Grief Support

Grief Support – Acacia Hospice NJ

After the death of a loved one, we journey through a time of bereavement when we mourn and process our grief.  Grief is our natural response to our loss and is unique for each of us.  There is no one way to grieve and no timetable to resolve our grief.  There is no right or wrong way to grieve.

Grief can result in physical reactions such as interruptions in sleep patterns, changes in appetite, and loss of focus.  Some emotional reactions include sadness and anger.  A desire to be alone may emerge early on as we grieve.  Often sharing our experiences with others can help to lighten our burden. Support from family and friends and our spiritual community can provide comfort following loss.

When our grieving seems overwhelming, professional help may be the answer.  Acacia Hospice Services offers individual support for those feeling one-to-one attention best meets their needs.  A monthly bereavement support group can provide an opportunity to develop new relationships through shared experiences.  Our bereavement letters provide comfort and encouragement during the grief journey.  Our Memorial Service conducted every six months is available for all of our families and friends to attend.
